Lucknow: A three-month-old baby has recovered from a series of life-threatening conditions, including sepsis, chronic kidney disease, and neonatal seizures after being successfully treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Medanta Hospital, Lucknow.
The baby girl, born on March 29, began experiencing respiratory distress, fever, cough, and diarrhoea shortly after birth. Her parents sought medical attention at a local hospital but were eventually referred to Medanta due to the severity of her condition. The baby was diagnosed with acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease, both of which are life-threatening for newborns. She also suffered from polymicrobial sepsis, a serious bloodstream infection. The medical team provided intensive care under the supervision of Dr Akash Pandita. Dr Akash Pandita said, "After days of intensive care, the baby recovered and has been discharged. She is now healthy and thriving."
