Lucknow: An awareness campaign on
road safety, as part of the ongoing ‘road safety fortnight' was organised by the department of commerce in
Lucknow University on Tuesday.
The campaign which commenced on Oct 2 will continue till Oct 16. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of road safety and the consequences of ignoring traffic rules.
First year students from the M Com program enthusiastically took part in the campaign, performing a compelling theatrical presentation.
The performance showed the serious dangers that arise from neglecting essential traffic regulations, such as wearing seatbelts, helmets, and adhering to speed limits. Through the play, the students emphasized how even small acts of carelessness on the road can result in devastating accidents, urging the audience to follow traffic guidelines diligently. Apart from the theatrical performance, students also designed and displayed informative posters highlighting critical road safety measures. These posters educated the public about responsible driving practices, such as avoiding the use of mobile phones while driving and respecting pedestrian crossings. TNN
