School girls hit by a van, injured

LUCKNOW: Six school girls received injuries when a van coming from the opposite direction hit the rickshaw . They received minor injuries. The incident took place near Odeon Cinema under Kaiserbagh police station area on Thursday around 6:30 am.
Six girls of Seventh Day Adventist School were going on a rickshaw when the accident occurred. They are all residents of Phoolbagh and Nazarbagh areas of Kaiserbagh.The girls have been identified as Devangi (11), her sister Ipshita (6), Manya (9), Uma (4), Arshia (13) and Shama (9). When their rickshaw reached F1 Tower near Odeon Cinema, a van coming from the opposite direction, hit the rickshaw.
The impact was severe enough to overturn the rickshaw. Ipshita and Devangi received injuries in the leg. Others suffered minor injuries. Devangi reportedly fractured her leg.
The rickshaw-puller, Harinam, was also injured. All the injured were given first aid at a nearby nursing home. "The van had disappeared by the time we reached the site," said inspector, Kaiserbagh, Digvijay Singh. He said that a case had been registered against the unidentified van driver with the Kaiserbagh police station.
