LUCKNOW: A 22-year-old youth reportedly died of dengue in the state capital on Sunday. Resident of Mulayam Nagar in Ismailganj, the youth Ajit Kumar Singh breathed his last in a hospital at 6.15 am.
However, officials at the chief medical office said they had no such information. When contacted, chief medical officer Dr AK Shukla assured to probe the matter.

Sources said that son of BS Singh, Ajit was admitted to a hospital on June 17.
His condition though was said to be stable but was not showing signs of improvement. The death certificate issued by the hospital mentioned "viral haemorrhagic fever" as the cause of death.
Dengue is a viral disease which spreads through female Aedes aegypti, also called tiger mosquito. Dengue symptoms appear after 5-7 days of infected bite and the disease has a 15-day incubation period. It can be prevented by simple steps which include discarding items that collect water and wearing full sleev clothes.
