Two killed, three hurt in road accidents

lucknow: three persons sustained serious injuries when they they were hit by a speeding truck at mandiaon on tuesday. later, local residents thrashed the erring truck driver, injuring him seriously. elsewhere, two persons were killed in separate road mishaps reported from the state capital on wednesday. in the first incident, a rickshaw-puller mewa lal of sitapur and scooter riders kamal kishore of sabauli and ganga dhar dwivedi of jankipuram suffered severe injuries when they were hit by a truck (upk 0630).all three were rushed to a nearby hospital by locals where their condition was stated to be critical. infuriated over the reckless driving, locals dragged the truck driver out of his vehicle and thrashed him. later, he was rescued by the police. in the second incident, raghubeer of pairi village under the bakshi-ka-talab police station was fatally knocked down by a speeding hero honda motorcycle on october 14. the motorcyclist was identified as adarsh alias babloo of itaunja village. the third road mishap was reported from near the government railway police (grp) lines in charbagh where an unidentified cyclist was severely injured when he was hit by an unidentified heavy vehicle on wednesday morning. he was admitted to the kgmc by the police where he succumbed to injuries. infant recovered: an infant was found lying near the ahibaran khera crossing in thakurganj police circle on october 14. the local police have registered a case in this connection and are carrying out investigation. chain snatched: an unidentified youth, clad in a white trouser and a white shirt, snatched away gold chain of meghawi srivastava of vishwas khand. the incident took place when the victim was returning to her home along with her daughter shipra. missing: kiran (11) of azamgarh was reportedly missing from hussainganj area from wednesday morning. she was brought to lucknow by her father janardhan for medical treatment. in another case, ravindra pratap sahi lodged an fir with the krishnanagar police stating that his daughter neelu (22) was untraceable from tuesday.
