UP RLD President Masood dies in accident

NEW DELHI: President of Uttar Pradesh Unit of Rashtriya Lok Dal, Mohammad Masood Khan, died in a road accident here on Thursday.
Masood, a member of the UP Legislative Council, was hit by a vehicle when he was standing on a footpath at Sardar Patel Marg in central Delhi this morning, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Mukesh Meena said.
Major Arun Sharma drove his vehicle onto the footpath hitting Masood and injuring him seriously at 9 am.
He was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries late Wednesday night, Meena said.
Masood was a member of Rajya Sabha and also member of state assembly for three terms.
He was also a former minister of Uttar Pradesh Government in 1977.
