As soon as the news spread the BJP workers gathered outside Dugri police station and they sat on protest. The workers raised slogans against ruling Aam Aadmi Party government and demanded immediate release of Kainth. They said he was going to lead several camps in the district to make people aware of the beneficial schemes run by the centre government but the state government is not making these schemes available for the public.
They alleged that ruling party is afraid of increasing base of BJP among voters ahead of assembly elections and that is why they are creating hurdles.
The BJP district president (urban) Rajnesh Dhiman who reached outside police station along with workers claimed that they have not done any crime by organising camps for public benefit but this government is intentionally creating problems for the workers. He said in Jalandhar also their leaders are detained by the police for similar reason.
