BJP workers protested outside Dugri police station in Ludhiana after the detention of district president Gagandeep Sunny Kainth. Kainth was allegedly detained while heading to awareness camps about central government schemes. Party workers accused the Aam Aadmi Party government of hindering BJP's outreach ahead of assembly elections.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers protested outside Dugri police station after the detention of BJP Ludhiana district president Gagandeep Sunny Kainth. Kainth was allegedly detained while heading to awareness camps about central government schemes.
LUDHIANA: A high level drama was witnessed outside Dugri police station when workers of Bharatiya Janata Party held a protest against state government and police for allegedly detailing BJP Ludhiana district president (rural) Gagandeep Sunny Kainth on Thursday while he was about to attend some camp for creating awareness among the masses about schemes of centre government. He was detained by police from his office in Flower enclave in Dugri even before he could reach the camp site.

As soon as the news spread the BJP workers gathered outside Dugri police station and they sat on protest. The workers raised slogans against ruling Aam Aadmi Party government and demanded immediate release of Kainth. They said he was going to lead several camps in the district to make people aware of the beneficial schemes run by the centre government but the state government is not making these schemes available for the public.They alleged that ruling party is afraid of increasing base of BJP among voters ahead of assembly elections and that is why they are creating hurdles. The BJP district president (urban) Rajnesh Dhiman who reached outside police station along with workers claimed that they have not done any crime by organising camps for public benefit but this government is intentionally creating problems for the workers. He said in Jalandhar also their leaders are detained by the police for similar reason.
