LUDHIANA: Schools across Ludhiana held functions to celebrate
Teachers' Day on Monday. At Children's Valley School, three-year old Adhvika kickstarted the function that included solo rhyme recitation, giddha and Bollywood dance.
Sat Paul Mittal School organized a cultural extravaganza was to appreciate the unwavering commitment of teachers for the mission and vision of this school 'with a difference'.
School director D B Sharma congratulated the teachers for inspiring and nurturing students to march in the right direction. To recognise the outstanding service rendered to the institution, Teacher of the Year Award were presented to Manjit Kaur Hanspal, Dr Sonia Bangia and Harneet Singh.
Students of Kiddies Paradise School celebrated with enthusiasm, joy and excitement. Little one dressed up as teachers and handled the classes tactfully. A grand function was organized at Kundan Vidya Mandir School. School principal Navita Puri said teachers add to curriculum things that are left out - compassion, harmony, love and togetherness. A classical jugalbandi by Narinder Singh, Darwin and Yamla enthralled the audience. Rohan Goyal, the school headboy, paid a soulful tribute to teachers with his speech.
Guru Nanak International Public School put together a small cultural programme. It started with a humourous poem on CCE pattern of CBSE by Navjit kaur, a Punjabi teacher, followed by a beautiful dance by Neetu. A choreography on how teachers are nation builders was presented by Inderjit, Saloni, Tajinder, Jasbir and Bandana. Head of Punjabi department Manjit Libaas paid a tribute to her teachers.
Teachers' Day at chain of Green Land Schools was celebrated with full zeal. The head boy and head girl took full charge of the director and the principals' office.
At Guru Nanak Public School, Model Town Extension, a mesmerizing group song was performed by students of Class V. A Hindi play, 'Masterji', by students of Class V highlighted the importance of respect for teachers.
Sacred Heart Higher Secondary Convent School students presented speeches, poems, songs, dances and drama. Daniya of Class X spoke on Teachers' Day and its importance. Director Rev Fr Matthew and Principal Rev Sr Ida Paul DM appreciated the students for their efforts.
Immense joy and fervour marked celebrations at Ryan International School. At Spring Dale Senior Secondary Public School, the management arranged for a recreational trip for all teachers to Wonderland.
An inter-class declamation contest was organized at Guru Nanak Girls College. Paramjit Kaur bagged the first prize, Ramanjit Kaur won the second prize and Satvir Kaur the third prize. Principal Charanjit Mahal gave away the certificates and trophies to winners. At Khalsa College for Women, members of students' council prepared quotes and poems expressing the relevance and importance of teachers.
