21MDUThree held for stealing motorcycles in the city
Madurai: A special team formed to find two wheeler thieves, arrested three youngsters including a 16-year-old boy involved in theft recovering the stolen motorcycle. On September 19th, T Vishak, 22 along with his friend went to Canara Bank branch at Tallakulam to collect an ATM card. When they returned after half-an-hour, they spotted two youngsters slipping away from the spot with their two wheeler. Vishak and his friend gave them a chase but they escaped from the spot with the vehicle.
Vishak filed a complaint with Tallakulam police and based on order of City Police Commissioner, Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, a special team was formed to nab the culprits. The team caught hold of the 16-year-old minor and his accomplice, Jahir Hussain, 19 at Ramamurthy Road near Vishal Mall on Wednesday evening and they confessed their crime. Based on the confession of the minor, another of their accomplice, A Sivanesan, 19 was also arrested. Police recovered the stolen two wheeler from them and Jahir Hussain and Sivanesan were remanded and sent to Madurai Central Prison while the boy was sent to juvenile home.
