One held for selling fake marks list

MANGALORE: Mangalore City Police on Sunday busted a marks list racket in the city and arrested one person in this connection.
Acting on definite information about a person selling fake marks list near Subash Nagar junction on Mangaladevi Road, Diwakar, police inspector, Mangalore South police station spotted the accused Nawaz Ahmed.
Police seized the marks list in the name of Jayaprakash B S issued by Mangalore University for fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth semester mechanical engineering courses as well as degree certificates also in Jayaprakash's name from Nawaz's possession.Nawaz confessed to have prepared fake marks list with the help of his associate Ravindranath Nayak.
Police also seized a scooter that Nawaz was using when police found him along with the marks list and certificates. A case has been registered. against Nawaz on a complaint from Diwakar, PI, Mangalore South (Pandeshwar) PS under sections 417, 465, 467, 468, 471, 472 read with section 34 of IPC
