River water of Panchganga has fallen out of its water holding capacity at Panchganga ghat and currently flowing at 31.4 feet height where warning level is at 39 feet and danger level at 43 feets. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a heavy rainfall alert for the next five days for Mumbai, Thane and other parts of Maharashtra. Mumbai, Thane and Raigad regions have been witnessing heavy downpour for the third consecutive day. The rainfall has led to landslides and water-logging at many places and traffic disruptions in the financial capital.
