Sachin Vaze suspended
Mumbai Police assistant inspector Sachin Vaze has been suspended by an order of Additional CP Special Branch. Vaze has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the explosives-laden SUV parked outside the residence of Mukesh Ambani, which also carried a threat letter. His alleged role in the death of Thane resident Mansukh Hiren, who was the actual owner of the SUV, is also being probed.
Thane water supply affected
Water supply was affected in Thane’s Vishnu Nagar on Monday after an underground water pipeline was damaged during ongoing civic work. According to the information shared by the Regional Disaster Management Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation, the pipeline was damaged near Telephone Exchange on Gokhale Road in Vishnu Nagar around 6 am. However, it was fixed by noon by Naupada area civic officials.
Thane accident
A car turned turtle in Kapurbawdi on Ghodbunder Road on Monday morning after the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed it on a tree and an MSEDCL feeder pillar. The incident took place in front of Vihang's Inn hotel in Thane West around 6:30 am. No injuries have been reported in the incident.

Banks on strike

'Do or die situation'
UFBU claimed that 10 lakh bank employees and officers have participated in the agitation against the privatisation of banks. Sanjiv Kumar Bandish, Convenor of UFBU said, "This is a do-or-die situation for us. I urge all my fellows to participate in the strike to convey our protest to the government. The protest is not just in the interest of bank employees but for all citizens of the country." "Private banks are not in the interest of the country. We will save PSBs," he added.
