Three rob businessman of car on eastern express highway

MUMBAI: Three men pulled a Vikhroli businessman out of his car, seized it and drove away late on Sunday. The incident occurred around 8pm, minutes after Piyush Rawathe (34), a cloth merchant, crossed the Mulund (East) toll naka on the eastern express highway in his Honda Jazz, said the Navghar police.
Rawathe told the police, “I was going home from my factory in Bhiwandi when a sedan (Hyundai Elantra) stopped in front of my car near Sardar Tara Singh lake in Navghar.Two men stepped out and dragged me out of my vehicle. They slapped and pushed me before driving away with my car.”
Rawathe went to the nearby Navghar police station. “He said the accused followed him from Bhiwandi. Rawathe has noted down the sedan’s number,” said senior inspector Ganesh Gaikwad. Rawathe told the police the accused drove towards Airoli.
