Two youths from Maharashtra killed in road accident while heading to meet friend, trucker detained

Kalyan: Two youths from Ulhasnagar were killed in a tragic road accident in the early hours of Wednesday while travelling on a motorcycle to meet a friend in Varap near Titwala.According to police, the accident occurred around 4 am when a container truck was heading towards Murbad. The motorcycle carrying the victims reportedly came into contact with the rear side of the container, resulting in a fatal crash.The deceased were identified as Raju Gupta, 22, and Pawan Gupta, 28, both residents of Ulhasnagar. Police said both sustained severe injuries and died in the accident.Preliminary investigations suggest that the motorcycle riders were attempting to overtake the container when they lost control and came under the vehicle. The container driver has been detained and the vehicle seized for further investigation.Police officials said the two friends were on their way to meet another friend in Varap when the mishap took place. Raju Gupta was engaged in a juice business, while Pawan Gupta worked at a restaurant.The Kalyan Taluka police registered a case and are investigating the exact circumstances leading to the crash.
