Chikkamagaluru Utsava: Treat yourself to Malnad dishes

The food festival will be an added attraction during Chikkamagaluru Utsava scheduled to be held between January 18 and 22. The visitors can taste various types of delicious and traditional dishes of Malnad region.

CHIKKAMAGALURU: The food festival will be an added attraction during Chikkamagaluru Utsava scheduled to be held between January 18 and 22. The visitors can taste various types of delicious and traditional dishes of Malnad region.
Deputy commissioner K N Ramesh said the visitors can enjoy the real taste of the coffee land. Traditional and delicious food items of Malenadu region will be made available at the mela, which will introduce people to rare food items.
The food mela will be organised at two venues.
1x1 polls
A total of 125 stalls will come up on the street between SBM and KSFC. In addition, 25 stalls will be opened at Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology (AIT) ground.
Events like applying 'mehendi', tatoo at the food mela venue will add more colours to the food festival, the DC said.

Apart from serving delicious food, the stall keepers will also sell home-made products. The aim of the mela is to serve traditional and delicious food items, said zilla panchayat CEO G Prabhu.
Chikkamagaluru City Municipal Council president Varasiddi Venogopal said apart from food, the Utsava will have a variety of events, including cultural programmes, to entertain the people. It is a great opportunity for artists to display their talent, he said.
