Mysuru: KINEVO 900, a state-of-the-art neurosurgical microscope from CARL ZEISS, was launched at the JSS Hospital.
The microscope was inaugurated by SP Manjunath, secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha (JSS-MVP). Three senior neurosurgeons at JSS Hospital—Prof. Dr. (Col.) TS Vasan (head of the department), Dr MD Krishna Narayanan (associate professor), and Dr Sangamesh Halhalli (assistant professor)—spoke on the occasion.
"The KINEVO 900 is a game-changer in neurosurgery," said Dr (Col.) TS Vasan. "It enhances visualisation, provides more stability, and allows for minimally invasive procedures. This means shorter surgery times, reduced complications, and faster recovery for our patients," he said.
Dr MD Krishna Narayanan said, "This technology will enable us to perform complex neurosurgical procedures with greater precision and confidence. The high-resolution imaging and robotic assistance improve safety and efficiency, benefiting both patients and surgeons."
This advanced system, which was previously unavailable in Mysuru city, promises to enhance precision, safety, and efficiency in complex brain and spine surgeries in the department of neurosurgery. The addition of the KINEVO 900 is expected to enhance the quality of these procedures, ensuring better precision and improved patient outcomes.
CG Betsurmath, executive secretary, JSS MVP, H Basavanagowdappa, vice-chancellor, JSS AHER, Puttasubbappa, director, finance department, JSS MVP, Mahesh R, director, medical education, JSS MVP, and Dr CP Madhu, in-charge director and medical superintendent, JSS Hospital, were present on the occasion.
