Man strikes mom with sharp object, kills her
Mysuru: A woman was allegedly murdered by her son on suspicion of infidelity on Sunday. Police have arrested four family members, including the woman’s son, for committing the murder and attempting to destroy evidence to mislead the police.
The incident was reported from Madalli village under the jurisdiction of Jayapura police station.
Mysuru SP Mallikarjun Baladandi said the deceased is Sudha, 48. Her son, Veerabhadra, 32, allegedly attacked and killed her near their house while she was working on Sunday morning.
Sources said that around three months ago, some villagers allegedly saw Sudha travelling on a motorcycle with an unidentified man and informed Veerabhadra about it. Disturbed by the incident, Veerabhadra warned his mother, police said. He grew furious and struck her on the head with a sharp object on Sunday morning, police said.
Two of Veerabhadra’s cousins, who noticed Sudha bleeding, rushed her to a hospital. However, she died on the way. The family allegedly brought the body back home and cremated it in an attempt to avoid legal action.
After learning about the incident, Jayapura police registered a case. Senior police officials visited the village and conducted an investigation.
Sudha is survived by her husband, a son and two married daughters.
