Mandya: Deputy commissioner Kumara has directed officials to immediately complete the remaining mapping work under the revision of the electoral rolls, which has already achieved 96.59% progress in Mandya district. He emphasised that all necessary measures should be taken to ensure the revision of the voters’ list is carried out in a transparent, systematic and error-free manner.During a review meeting at the DC office on the progress of SSR mapping and reservation of gram panchayat member seats for the gram panchayat general elections-2026 on Tuesday, Kumara said booth level officers (BLOs) must conduct door-to-door visits and collect accurate information from every household. He warned that strict action would be taken against officials who neglect their responsibilities or remain absent from duty. The DC stated that the primary objective of the revision is to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll and that no ineligible person’s name remains on the list. He noted that misconceptions about the revision process exist among the public and stressed the need to create awareness about its purpose.Kumara explained that the revision process involves verification of the draft voters’ list, deletion of names of deceased and shifted voters, and inclusion of newly eligible voters. Voters must fill out the forms provided by BLOs and submit them during house visits, while online submission facilities are also available.
