Muda special land acquisition officer transferred
Mysuru: Mysore Urban Development Authority (Muda) Special Land Acquisition Officer R Manjunath was transferred on Friday. He is the fourth officer to be shifted out of the urban body following the alleged 50:50 scheme scam. Muda commissioner AN Raghunandan confirmed to STOI that the officer has been transferred. The post is now lying vacant, he stated. If sources are to be believed, Muda had urged the govt to retain Manjunath in the post in the interest of the urban body. Earlier, Muda secretary, engineer, and commissioner were transferred by the govt after the 50:50 scam rocked the urban body.Meanwhile, BJP MLA TS Srivatsa claimed he had filed a complaint against several officers, accusing them of indulging in the 50:50 scam wherein sites were given away to landlords, throwing all rules and regulations to the wind. "Transferring officials is not a punishment. They should be placed under suspension and an inquiry should be initiated against them," the MLA stated.
