MYSORE: Muddy roads, puddles of drain water and dark streets are the welcome signs at Mahadevapura. Neither its proximity to Mysore city nor that its residents are the highest taxpayers for Srirampura gram panchayat has helped Mahadevapura boast of basic amenities--- roads, drains, streetlights and water. This is the fate of the place which is barely 6.5 km from the emerging mini-metro Mysore and has a population of 6,500.
Mahadev, who took charge as president of the Srirampura GP five months ago and represents Mahadevapura panchayat, said though the issues were brought to the notice of higher ups, nothing has been done.
There are eight villages under the Srirampura gram panchayat.
However, Mahalingappa, executive officer of Srirampura gram panchayat, promised to initiate action. "Yes, there are some problems in Mahadevapura. We will discuss the issues at the next GP meeting and come out with proper solutions," he said.
