Nagpur: The postal department has extended the working hours of its financial service counters at the City Head Post Office Itwari, offering relief to salaried individuals and traders.
The initiative has been implemented under the guidance of Nagpur division DPS Dr Sudhir Jakhre. As per the revised schedule, the financial service counters will operate till 7.30pm on all working days.
Many citizens are often unable to visit post offices during regular hours (till 4pm) due to professional or personal commitments. Recognising this constraint, the department decided to extend the timings.
During the extended hours, customers can avail a range of services, including opening new accounts, updating KYC details, depositing money in recurring deposits (RD), time deposits (TD), and other savings schemes, withdrawing funds, and carrying out all financial transactions related to the postal department.
"The postal department has always been a reliable support system for the common man. We are committed to providing more efficient, accessible, and customer-centric services," an official said.
The move is expected to benefit traders and residents of the Itwari area significantly, while also helping streamline crowd management at the post office. The department has urged citizens to make the most of the extended facility.
