NAGPUR: A moneylender was booked on Thursday by Imambada Police for abetting the suicide of a shopkeeper. Deceased PradeepSolanki, who owned a business of stationery, was found dead on the footpath at Untkhana in July this year.
Police said that Solanki, father of three, had borrowed around Rs 1 lakh from accused DineshSewak who is yet to be arrested.

Solanki learnt to have repaid the loan in two instalments of Rs 50,000 each. Sewak was putting pressure on Solanki to cough up the interest after receiving the principal amount. Police said that Solanki may have taken the drastic step following Sewak's harassment. Solanki's two daughters and a son are studying at different institutions.
Sources from Imambada police said that Solanki's wife Nanda gave a diary to police in which her husband had left a note mentioning about his financial dealing with Sewak. Police said that the offence was registered following Nanda's complaint.
