Funds for devpt of Saptashrungi Gad
Nashik: The state government has made an allocation of over Rs 81 crore in the interim budget for the development of Saptashrungi Gad, the famous Hindu pilgrimage destination in Kalwan taluka of Nashik district.The budget also mentioned that the facilities at Trimbakeshwar temple would be improved. The work to create new infrastructure at Saptashrungi Gad would start once the state government allocates funds. Different government agencies like PWD, MSRTC etc would be involved in creating the infrastructure. The plan finalised by the administration includes setting up of a Bhakta Niwas for devotees, an MSRTC bus stand, a garden near temple shrine, a canteen, construction of a building for police personnel to be used during bandobast etc. Further, a safety net would be constructed on the 8 km stretch of the ghat road leading to the temple to prevent rockfall.State cabinet minister Chhagan Bhujbal lauded Pawar for allotting funds for development of Saptashrungi Gad. “The deputy CM has also announced that funds would be provided to improve facilities at Trimbakeshwar temple. The state government’s efforts will boost religious tourism in Nashik,” said Bhujbal.,” said Bhujbal. Funds have also been allotted for land acquisition for Nashik-Pune semi-highspeed rail project, Bhujbal said.
