Nashik: The Nashik rural police have formed two teams to locate Rajendra Raje, the owner of a well where nine family members, including six children, lost their lives on Friday night in the Shivajinagar area of Dindori town.
The car carrying the family had plunged into the well on Friday night. Taking into account the negligence of the well owner, Rajendra Raje, in securing the well properly to avoid any untoward incident, the Dindori police made Raje the second accused in the case of causing death by negligence, apart from deceased car driver Sunil Dargode.
Inspector Bhagwan Mathure, of the Dindori police station, said that Raje has not been traced so far. He will, however, soon be arrested as two teams are working on locating his whereabouts.
Meanwhile, the Dindori civic body has completed the work of filling the well with over 12,000 tonnes of murum, mud, etc. Officials of the Dindori civic body said they have initiated communication with the town planning department to see if a road can be constructed over the well.
Details of area where the well is located will be with the town planning department. After studying the documents, a decision on constructing the road can be taken, said the office.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, residents of Indore village organised a condolence meeting to pay tributes to the deceased members of the Dargode family, said Deepak Dhatrak, a resident of the village.
