Village-level camps to resolve grievances at people’s doorsteps
Nashik: The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maharajswa Samadhan Shivir, a campaign in which all officials are to be present simultaneously, will now be held at the village level to resolve people's issues at their doorsteps.District collector Ayush Prasad has directed all administrative departments to effectively implement the campaign starting April 14, to coincide with the birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. The primary objective is to resolve citizens' grievances directly at their doorsteps."As per govt decision, such camps were initially to be conducted at the circle (group of several gram panchayats) level between March and May. To date, 41 circles in the district have hosted these sessions, providing benefits from various govt schemes to 29,746 beneficiaries. However, following a recent tour by revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, where a large number of representations were received from rural areas, the administration decided to extend the drive's reach from the circle headquarters directly to respective villages," said a senior officer from the district administration.
The collector has chalked out a programme in which populous villages will be given priority for visits, and has made it mandatory that taluka heads, including the tehsildar, block development officer, taluka agriculture officer, and supply officer, be present."To ensure people do not suffer from summer heat and agricultural schedules are not affected, the camps will be held between 5pm and 7pm at prominent local venues such as gram panchayat offices or social halls," the officer added.Govt aims to provide immediate legal resolutions to pending applications and ensure that information regarding welfare schemes reaches the most remote citizens.
