Patna: Approximately 32 acres of land were allotted for industrial projects with the approval of 16 industrial units and seven hotel proposals at a meeting of the Project Clearance Committee (PCC) of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (Biada) held on Tuesday.
These projects involve a proposed investment of around Rs1,000 crore and are expected to generate over 3,000 employment opportunities across sectors such as food processing, manufacturing, garments and textiles, automation, and infrastructure, officials said on Wednesday.

Shreyasi Singh said the steady approval of new industrial projects is accelerating Bihar’s industrial and economic growth. She emphasised that these projects will create large-scale employment and skill-based opportunities for local youth, adding that the state government is committed to fostering an investor-friendly ecosystem and positioning Bihar as a modern hub for industry and manufacturing.
Kundan Kumar, secretary, industries department-cum-managing director, Biada and IDA, said the state govt is committed to ensuring balanced and inclusive industrial development. Through Biada, industrial land is being allotted to investors in a transparent and time-bound manner.
He further said robust infrastructure, improved connectivity, streamlined procedures and strong policy support are being provided to create a conducive environment for investors and facilitate the speedy implementation of projects.
The approved projects span a diverse range of sectors, including food processing, rice milling, PEB structure manufacturing, steel roofing sheet production, garments, cotton wick and agarbatti manufacturing, corrugated paper production, and general manufacturing.
These investments are expected to strengthen Bihar’s industrial base and boost economic activity at the local level. The proposed units will be established across various industrial areas of the state, including IA Fatuha, IA Baijnathpur, IA Goraul, IA Samastipur, IA Donar, Large Industrial Estate (LIE), Barari, Industrial Growth Centre (IGC), Maranga, IA Muzaffarpur, IA Patliputra and IA Hajipur.
