PATNA: Police have caught two Class IX students – one of a central school and another of a private school – in connection with the murder of Sanjay Ram, husband of former mukhiya of Navahi panchayat Sangeeta Devi. Sanjay was shot dead in front of his house in Krishna Nagar Colony under the Bihta police station area on November 13.
SHO of Bihta police station Awadesh Kumar Jha on Saturday said while the student of central school was riding the bike, the private school student had opened fire.
Jha said while the police took central school student into custody from his rented accommodation on Thursday, the private school student had surrendered before the ACJM court at Danapur on the same day. The two were later sent to juvenile remand homes.
The SHO said police would move juvenile justice board, seeking remand of the juvenile offenders for interrogation. “Manoj Singh and his son Manik Singh, both notorious criminals, were the conspirators behind the murder,” the SHO said, adding the private school student was paid Rs 50,000 to execute the crime.
