Patna:
Bihar assembly on Tuesday witnessed an uproarious scene during the post-lunch session after a JD (U) member made a highly objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Though Speaker
Vijay Kumar Choudhary promptly ordered for expunging the objectionable word during a debate on the Bihar Appropriation Bill-2016, BJP members led by leader of opposition Prem Kumar insisted on Ratnesh Sada's apology inside the House for saying that the PM was like a demon.
As the JD (U) member was not ready to apologize, the BJP members trooped into the well and began shouting slogans. The Speaker adjourned the House for 10 minutes and convened a meeting of the business advisory committee (BAS) to restore normalcy.
At the BAS meeting, Prem insisted on Sada's apology. But the Speaker reportedly said since the objectionable remarks had been expunged from the proceedings, there was no need to linger the matter further. After the BAS meeting, the Speaker resumed the House proceedings, but the BJP members decided to stay away.
"The offending remarks by Sada is not a solitary case of ruling grand alliance members' using highly objectionable words for BJP seniors during debates. It has become their habit to make insulting remarks against the opposition members. A few days ago, RJD member Shambhu Yadav openly threatened to teach lesson to a BJP member in the assembly," Prem Kumar told TOI.
In the pre-lunch session, the BJP members created bedlam in the House, demanding dismissal of state's minority welfare minister Abdul Ghafoor for visiting Siwan district jail to meet the imprisoned RJD strongman Mohammad Shahabuddin on March 8.
