Patna: What began as a tense INDIA bloc press conference in Araria over allegations of "vote fraud" took an unexpected turn on Sunday when
RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav suggested that Union minister Chirag Paswan should get married. The light-hearted remark instantly stole the show with Congress leader
Rahul Gandhi quickly joining the banter, saying with a grin that the advice applied to him as well.
Responding to a question on Chirag's jibe that he had become a "pichhlaggu" (follower) of the Congress and was trailing behind Rahul Gandhi during the ongoing "Voter Adhikar Yatra," Tejashwi brushed off the attack with humour. "One may call me the people's Hanuman, but Chirag is a particular person's Hanuman. I won't comment on his remark, but I would like him to get married soon… He is my elder brother," Tejashwi told reporters.
The atmosphere lightened further when Rahul, seated beside him, said, "Mere liye bhi applicable hai (This advice also applies to me)." The Congress MP shook hands with Tejashwi, drawing laughter from party colleagues, journalists and supporters as the presser briefly turned into a wedding-themed exchange.
Tejashwi, who tied the knot with his long-time friend Rajshree Yadav in 2021, is already a father of two. In March this year, his family welcomed a baby boy. Rahul, however, remains a bachelor.
