CM: Launch special drive to complete land survey work

Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Saturday directed officials to complete all pending land survey tasks within a stipulated timeframe by launching a special campaign. Presiding over a meeting of the revenue and land reforms department, the CM asserted that the work of land record rectification and survey must not be hindered under any circumstances.He said additional officers and staff should be deployed, if required, to expedite the process. The CM pointed out that land disputes are a recurring cause of criminal incidents and homicides within the state. To curb such occurrences, he asserted that resolving land-related disputes is imperative.The CM instructed officials to execute the survey and record-correction work in a transparent and time-bound manner, thereby providing relief to the public.The department’s minister, Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, who attended the meeting along with senior officials and functionaries, said incidents of violence and homicide stemming from land disputes continue to surface across the state. “The CM has issued clear directives to ensure that the land survey and record rectification work throughout the state is completed at the earliest. The CM has issued a stern warning to officials, declaring that no negligence or laxity will be tolerated at any level.
Strict action will be initiated against any official found to be derelict in the discharge of their duties,” Jaiswal said.He said the govt believes that the completion of land surveys and the updating of land records will lead to a reduction in land-related disputes and provide common citizens with relief from legal entanglements. “To this end, the department is currently preparing to launch a special drive across the state in the near future. The meeting has made it abundantly clear that the govt is now moving forward with the objective of completing the land survey and record rectification work in a ‘mission mode’,” Jaiswal said.
