House adjourned twice amid din over Muzaffarpur sex abuse case
PATNA: The opposition RJD, Congress and CPI(ML) on Wednesday stalled the assembly proceedings demanding a CBI probe into the rape of 29 inmates at Muzaffarpur short stay home. Speaker Vijay Kumar Choudhary had to adjourn the House twice after the two-hour special debate on drought.
Incidentally, soon after the two-hour special debate and the first adjournment of the House, a nine-member opposition team led by leader of opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav left for Muzaffarpur to make spot assessment of the Muzaffarpur rape incident.

The other members of the team were former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi, senior Congress leaders Sadanand Singh, Awadhesh Kumar Singh and Ashok Ram as well as Amita Bhushan. Those from the RJD included Abdul Bari Siddiqui and Sweety Hembrom, while the CPI(ML) was represented by Mahboob Alam.
Later, the appropriation bill was passed without holding the debate on it as the opposition members raised the demand for a CBI probe again and staged walkout again.
