Patna: Hyderabad-based Muslim Educational Social and Cultural Organisation has organized ‘Quran-e-Fehmi’, or knowing the Quran, in Patna from April 12 to 22 to make people aware about the Quran and its teachings.
While a session will be held at the Muslim High School on B M Das Road from 9am to 1pm for teachers who impart knowledge of the Quran, another session will be held at the Abdul Hai Commercial Complex on Exhibition Road from 8pm to 10pm for commoners.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Dr Ahmad Abdul Hai said the Quran is an action-oriented book from which much can be learned. “It is not for any particular faith… Anyone can benefit from its teachings,” he said.
Dr Hai regretted Muslims generally complain about non-development of the community. “But we fail to do anything to change the situation for the better. Many of us don’t allow our womenfolk to go out, even to offer ‘namaz’ in a mosque. The fact is, there are many good things in the Quran which we don’t know about,” he said.
He invited people from all religions to the Quran-e-Fehmi. The sessions will include audio-visual presentations, he said.
