Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) will hold its 28th syndicate meeting at the university headquarters here on Tuesday. Several important decisions related to academic development and streamlining of academic activities in colleges under the university’s jurisdiction are expected to be taken during the meeting.
According to PPU registrar Abu Bakar, the syndicate meeting will deliberate on measures aimed at improving academic administration, strengthening institutional functioning and ensuring smoother execution of university-related activities in the colleges located in Patna and Nalanda.
Meanwhile, the university on Monday notified the inclusion of two new members in the syndicate. “B D College principal Ratna Amrit and J D Women’s College principal Meera Kumari have been appointed as new syndicate members,” the registrar said.
In another significant development, the university announced that leave applications by both teaching and non-teaching staff will now be accepted only through the Samarth e-governance portal from Monday. “Offline leave applications will be entertained only in special cases,” Bakar said, adding that the university administration has also directed all teaching and non-teaching employees to upload their profiles on the portal at the earliest to facilitate smooth implementation of the online system.
