Patna: Deputy CM-cum-home minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday cleared two projects worth Rs 47 crore for setting up the Bihar special armed police (BSAP)-1 Gurkha Vahini camp near Naubatpur in Patna district and two fire station units at Rosera in Samastipur district.
The BSAP-1 Gurkha Vahini camp, which will include a training centre, will be located near the Bihta-Sarmera highway, about 6.5 km from the Naubatpur block headquarters, and will require 30 acres of land.

“A sum of Rs 40 crore will be spent on the acquisition of 30 acres of land. The available road communication is very suitable for it,” Choudhary said, adding that permanent structures and other infrastructure would be developed at the site.
“The BSAP-1 of the Gurkha Vahini is a very important unit of the state police force. Its contingents are deployed in highly sensitive areas for crime control, security in extremist-affected regions and for the protection of persons holding constitutional posts,” he said.
Set up in 2002, the unit has so far functioned with temporary resources. Permanent buildings, residential facilities, a parade ground and administrative structures will be constructed on the acquired land.
The Rosera project involves construction of a G+3 fire station building with a 125 Kva generator, rainwater harvesting system, fire hydrant, underground RCC tank and other facilities at a cost of Rs 6.98 crore.
“The Rosera fire station will provide response in emergency situations and will have all modern facilities,” Choudhary said.
