Door-to-door verification of 91L electors by BLOs from June 30
Pune: The district administration will launch a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive of electoral rolls across the district to make voters’ lists more accurate, transparent and updated, district collector and district election officer Jitendra Dudi said on Monday.
Around 91.16 lakh voter records will be physically verified through door-to-door visits. The campaign is being conducted under the directions of the Election Commission of India.
Between June 30 and July 29, 2026, booth-level officers will visit voters’ homes to distribute and collect enumeration forms. During the verification process, voter details such as name, address, photograph and other particulars will be checked and updated wherever required.
Officials will also scrutinise entries falling under the “absent, shifted, dead and duplicate” category to identify inaccuracies in the rolls. Authorities clarified that voters whose records can be mapped with electoral rolls from 2002 to 2004 may not be required to furnish additional documents.
According to the schedule announced by the ECI, printing of enumeration forms and training of BLOs will be conducted between June 20 and June 29. The draft electoral roll will be published on Aug 5, 2026, following which claims and objections can be submitted till Sept 4. Disposal of claims and objections will be completed by Oct 3, while the final electoral roll will be published on Oct 7.
The district administration said around 8,417 BLOs and 4,557 booth-level agents of various political parties will participate in the exercise.
Dudi said that the revision process would be carried out in a fair and transparent manner and that no eligible voter’s name would be deleted from the electoral rolls.
