Lawyer's daughter commits suicide

PUNE: Sixteen-year-old Shrusti Dabhade, daughter of criminal lawyer Vijay Dabhade, who is one of the suspects in the murder of RTI activist Satish Shetty, committed suicide in Talegaon Dabhade on Tuesday.
Dabhade is out on bail.
Shrusti committed suicide by jumping from a water tank at the Panchvati colony in Talegaon Dabhade on Tuesday at around 2pm, said inspector Rajendra Patil of the Talegaon Dabhade police station.
Patil told TOI that Shrusti jumped from a height of around 50 m from the water tank, maintained by the Talegaon Dabhade Municipal Council. She was rushed to a nearby private hospital and later shifted to another hospital in Chinchwad, but she died due to multiple injuries while undergoing treatment.
Patil said a boy staying near the residence of the victim used to trouble her, but Shrusti or her parents did not file a complaint with the police.
Shrusti was a student of Standard XI in a junior college in Talegaon Dabhade. No suicide note was found in her possession. The police have registered a complaint of accidental death. "We will record the statement of the victim's parents, family members and others for ascertaining the motive behind the suicide. We will take further action on the basis of the outcome of the investigations," Patil said.
Patil confirmed that the Pune rural police had arrested Dabhade and others in the Satish Shetty murder case in 2010. The Bombay High Court later transferred the investigations in Shetty's case to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Boy commits suicide in Pimpri
An 11-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide in Laltopinagar in Morwadi in Pimpri by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house on Tuesday morning.
The Pimpri police have identified the deceased as Hrishikesh Gautam Kharat. The incident came to light around 10.30am, when Hrishikesh's friend Rohit Sakat saw him hanging from the ceiling.
The police said that Rohit immediately alerted the neighbours. The neighbours broke the door of Hrishikesh's house and rushed him to the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, where Hrishikesh was declared dead by doctors.
The incident took place when Hrishikesh was alone in the house. The reason behind his suicide is yet to be ascertained, the police said.
