Put in to bat, Maharashtra scored only 112-5 with captain Tejal Hasabnis top scoring with 49 off 48 balls (5x4s). India international Devika Vaidya scored 25 off 33 balls with one four but the scoring rate never got going. But it wasn’t an outright ordinary batting effort by Maharashtra considering they were 14-3 in the sixth over.
Captain Disha Kasat first won an important toss for Vidarbha and then controlled the chase well with an unbeaten 53 off 48 balls. Vidarbha had won five of the six group games. Maharashtra were without opener and U-19 captain Ishwari Savkar in this game as she is a part of India ‘A’ team in the U-19 Challenger Trophy.
