PUNE: Youth 20 (Y20) consultation under the aegis of the G20 presidency of India began at the Symbiosis International University (SIU) campus on Friday.
The two-day conference, is supported by the Union ministry of youth affairs and sports and will be inaugurated by youth affairs minister,
Anurag Singh Thakur, on Saturday.
Vidya Yeravdekar, pro-chancellor of SIU, said, “We hope to inspire young minds and seek recommendations in solving various challenges faced by them.”
Akash Jha, Secretary of Y20 India said that the theme ‘Future of Work’ will focus on Industry 4.0.
“The policy papers we derive out of Y20 discussions will be discussed in the final G20 meet,” Jha added.
Anita Patankar, director of the Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts, said, “Getting recommendations and suggestions fromthe youth for their own problems will help solve them much better than imposing our solutions on them. The Y20 will see students from diverse backgrounds talking about diverse problems as well as solutions.”
