Bizman kills brother with pistol from point-blank range, arrested
Raipur: A young businessman fatally shot his younger brother in the head from point-blank range in a residential colony on Vidhan Sabha Road in the state capital late Sunday night.
The accused, 31-year-old businessman Piyush Jha, killed his 28-year-old brother Parag Jha in a fit of rage amid ongoing disputes between them at their Sapphire Green Phase-II flat on the Vidhan Sabha Road, police said.

After the murder, the accused made a video call to his mother, who resides in Capital Homes, Saddu, Raipur, confessing to the act, said the Vidhan Sabha police. He then drove around in his car with the pistol. Later, the accused was arrested by the police from D D Nagar.
Police claimed that Piyush is a habitual drunkard, and his younger brother often tries to persuade him to quit the habit. On the fateful day, a similar incident happened, and the accused took out his country made revolver from the cupboard and shot his younger brother in the head, said the police. Parag collapsed on the spot.
Following the incident, Piyush made a video call to his mother, showing her the body, and then disconnected the call and fled. She immediately altered the police. A team from the Vidhan Sabha Police Station rushed to the crime scene late at night while another team launched a search for Piyush by setting up checkpoints in the city.
The police claim that they swiftly apprehended the suspect's car in the D D Nagar area based on the car's number and mobile phone location.

Piyush, the one who shot his brother, had pursued engineering at a private university in Raipur along with his younger brother, Parag. They had started a company manufacturing drones a few years ago. Piyush specializes in aeronautical engineering.
Following the incident, a forensic team has arrived at the crime scene.
“Information about the murder was received by the police around 11:30 PM. Under the direction of Senior Police Superintendent Raipur Santosh Singh, Additional Police Superintendent (Rural) Neeraj Chandrakar, Vidhan Sabha in-charge Deepak Paswan immediately reached the scene of the incident.
The mother of the deceased informed that Parag Jha was shot by his elder brother, Piyush Jha, who then fled in his car. Immediate checkpoints were set up in the city, and with the identification of the car's number and mobile number of the suspect, the police successfully apprehended him in the D D Nagar area.
Their mother revealed that her sons worked together repairing drones. There were frequent altercations between the two brothers, and the accused has a history of addiction,” said the police.
Piyush confessed to his crime and told police that the revolver, which he had used to kill his brother, was brought by Parag from Bihar some years back.
