10-yr-old mentally ill girl rescued
Ranchi: A 10-year-old mentally challenged girl, who was abandoned by her parents in front of the Ranchi Institute of Neuro-Psychiatry and Applied Sciences (Rinpas), was rescued by the Ranchi district legal services authority (DLSA) on Thursday.
A para-legal volunteer (PLV) had informed the DLSA about a girl roaming near Rinpas late Wednesday evening. DLSA chairman and Ranchi judicial commissioner AK Mishra instructed secretary Rakesh Roushan to provide aid to the child. The secretary appointed two PLVs to take care of her and instructed a an employee of a ‘dharmshala (public shelter)’ to keep her for the night.
The DLSA has requested the Rinpas authorities for footage captured by the closed circuit television cameras (CCTV) installed in the area by the medical institution related to the child so that her parents could be traced. The Kanke police station has also been roped in.
DLSA secretary urged the people to inform any news on the number 15100 if they get information related to the child.
