14 prisoners set free by Garhwa jail adalat

GARHWA: A jail adalat was organized in Garhwa sub-jail premises, in which altogether 14 prisoners of Garhwa sub-jail were released on Saturday under the chairmanship of district legal service authority (DLSA) chairman Shiv Narayan Singh.
Among those who were released included Sanjay Parahiya, Nanhu Parahiya, Sonu Parahiya, Deonath Parahiya, Bansi Parahiya, Daulatia Devi, Nagia Devi, Rajmatia Devi, Hiriday Pandey, Shambhu Ram, Pramod Mehta and Sanjay Ram.
In another development, a total of 34 separate cases were disposed of in a Lok Adalat held on the premises of Garhwa civil court under the chairmanship of principal district judge Shiv Narayan Singh on Saturday. Revenue of Rs 66,000 was also collected from different departments.
Revenue collected from different departments in the Lok Adalat, included Rs 42,000 from electricity department, Rs 14,000 from forest department and Rs 6,600 from excise department.
