SHIMLA: The Sanyukt Kisan Manch has announced to hold a "Kisan Aakrosh" rally outside the state secretariat in Shimla on August 5 to protest against the failure of the state government to fulfil the long-pending demands of fruit growers.
SKM convener Harish Chauhan said that decisions being taken by the state government for apple growers should be implemented on ground too.
He said that in the July 28 meeting with chief minister
Jai Ram Thakur, they had submitted 20 point charter of demand of which 15 demands are still pending. "Decisions on some demands have been taken by the government but notifications for them has not been issued yet," he said.
