Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar stated on Monday that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) would establish the government in Maharashtra to prioritize the interests of the people.

"Our alliance will work to address pressing issues such as inflation, unemployment, and the concerns of farmers, women, Adivasis, and the underprivileged," he said.

Pawar also criticized the ruling Mahayuti alliance for failing to tackle these problems.

One of the students in Delhi, Vansh Aggarwal urged the government to use "new techniques and innovation" to control the pollution in the capital city. "There are many reasons for the increase in pollution including vehicle and industrial pollution. Even though it is said that it is increasing due to Diwali, but there are a lot of reasons for it, it would be wrong to attribute it to just Diwali. There should be a proper system to tackle the issue of pollution. There are a lot of engineering colleges here, some way we should use new techniques and innovation, the government should control it and take some steps instead of politicising it," he said.

Delhi AQI today: Thick smog engulfs city, air quality still in 'Very Poor' category

Some parts of New Delhi saw a layer of smog on Monday as the air quality stayed in the 'Very Poor' category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 328, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR). This is a slight improvement from Sunday's AQI of 356. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported that the AQI at Anand Vihar was 357 at 7am, which is in the 'very poor' category but a drop from 405 recorded on Sunday.

Air quality dipped to ‘very poor' in the NCR cities of Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad on Sunday, prompting a senior pollution board official to blame Pakistan for the plummeting levels. While Noida recorded an AQI of 304 – a significant plunge from 169 the previous day – Greater Noida also registered a decline at 312. Neighbouring Ghaziabad recorded an AQI of 324.

BJP on Sunday alleged that "stubble burning in Punjab" and "dust from poorly maintained roads" in the city were the main contributors to air pollution in the capital even as Congress claimed that AAP govt "did not learn" any lessons from "poor air quality" in the past few years.
