CID crime team manhandled during raid in city

Surat: A group of people manhandled a CID crime team during a raid at a wristwatch shop in Manish Market Building at Janta Market of the city on Saturday. The group created disturbance during the raid after which local police were alerted, a police officer said.
A CID crime team under police inspector D M Mishra had raided the shop following information that it dealt in duplicate watches of top international brands.Mishra was not available for his comments. “Some disturbance was created by local people during the raid by the CID crime team. Police will register a complaint of unlawful assembly against those who had manhandled the team,” in-charge deputy commissioner of police, zone II, M N Patel said.
Police force from Athwa Lines police station soon reached the shop.
