3 Punjab shooters arrested in 3am raid near Kalyan

The anti-gangster task force of Punjab Police with the help of the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and local Khadakpada police raided Yadav Nagar area in Mohane near Kalyan in the early hours of Monday and arrested three shooters of Sonu Khatri gang involved in various criminal activities in Punjab. The gang operates from outside India.
All three arrested accused - Shivam Mahatur, 22, Gurmukh Singh, 23, and Amandip Gurmilchand alias Rancho, 21, - are residents of Punjab.They are being taken to Punjab on a transit remand.
Police sources said the accused were involved in a murder in Punjab last year and were on the radar of Punjab Police.
In March 2022, one Makkhan Kanga (30) was shot multiple times by a gang of around six people, killing him on the spot. The attackers came in an SUV and fired indiscriminately. The three arrested accused were wanted in murder, attempt-to-murder.
Sources said that the anti-gangster task force of Punjap Police recently received specific information about hideouts of the three accused in Kalyan's Mohane area. They shared the information with Maharashtra ATS.
The two agencies with help of local Khadakpada police laid a trap and nabbed the three shooters from a ground-plus three-story building where they were living in a rented flat.
Police sources said at least 100 policemen, surrounded the building area around 3 am, and ATS and anti-gangster task force team entered the flat where the accused were hiding.
