Maharashtra horror: Man kills wife after dispute over teenage girl’s night out

KALYAN: A domestic dispute over a teenage daughter allegedly staying out late took a tragic turn when a man allegedly strangled his wife to death in Badlapur on Tuesday night, police said.

The incident took place in Yadav Nagar locality of Badlapur East.
According to police, the accused, Ramakant (name changed to prevent identity), had been frequently arguing with his wife over their 17-year-old daughter’s movements, particularly her alleged habit of stepping out in the evening.

On Tuesday night, the argument escalated into a heated confrontation. While their daughter was asleep, the accused allegedly lost his temper and used a waist-belt to strangle his wife, leading to her death on the spot.
Upon receiving information, Badlapur police rushed to the scene and took the accused into custody. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination.

Senior police inspector Nitin Patil said, “The couple used to have frequent arguments over their daughter. The accused took the extreme step following a dispute on Tuesday night. He has been arrested and further investigation is underway.”
