Centre solely responsible for riots in Delhi: Kanam

Thiruvananthapuram: Union government is solely responsible for the riots in Delhi, said CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran. “The attacks in Delhi were pre-planned. The immediate provocation was the rooting out of BJP in New Delhi assembly polls,” Rajendran said while inaugurating a protest gathering organized by CPI in front of Secretariat on Thursday.
“Our Prime Minister took several hours to make any comment despite the riots going on for three days. Goons who had come from Uttar Pradesh ran riot in Delhi. Sangh Parivar is applying dangerous tactics to divide people. All the while the police remained mute spectators,” Rajendran said. The CPI secretary also asked all who are concerned about the future of the country to stay united and resist the Sangh Parivar agenda.
CPI district secretary G R Anil presided over the event. Deputy speaker V Sasi, MLA C Divakaran, state assistant secretary K Prakash Babu and district assistant secretary Mankode Radhakrishnan spoke.
The CPI organized similar protest gatherings in all district centres.
