Pudukottai: CII Trichy zone organised an MSME district connect event at Pudukottai on Thursday, with an awareness programme on zero defect, zero effect (ZED) certification and govt support schemes for MSMEs.
During the event it was informed that, through the centrally sponsored Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, loans to the tune of 1,200 crore were disbursed within Pudukottai district since the scheme was launched in 2015. Organisers said the number indicated strong financial backing available for local businesses.

The event focused on strengthening the MSME ecosystem in nearby districts through professional networking and scaling existing businesses.
Participants were advised to improve manufacturing quality through ZED and to use the govt's digital registration portals to access substantial credit facilities for business expansion. "The objective was to provide a comprehensive knowledge-sharing platform and bring together industrial leaders, govt officials, and entrepreneurs to discuss quality standards, financial assistance, and regional industrial growth," CII Trichy zone chairman Ajay Jayaraj, said.
Sundaram, convenor of the districts' impact panel (Pudukottai), explained the need for a regional industrial ecosystem and detailed the role of CII in business scaling and professional networking. The significance of lean and 5S methodologies in enhancing operational efficiency was explained.
