5 of family on bike run over by container truck near Udaipur

Udaipur: Five bike-borne members of a family died and one minor was injured when they were run over by a container truck on Nimbahera-Chittorgarh four-lane highway near Bhawaliya bridge on Tuesday night. The minor, a one-year-old girl, was thrown aside on impact and was saved after landing at a distance. She was taken to a govt hospital in Nimbahera.Among the deceased were a husband, wife, and their daughter. Six persons were riding on the bike at the time of the accident.
Sanjay Sharma, Nimbahera Sadar SHO, said police were alerted about the accident around 10pm on Tuesday night. Reports indicated that a heavy vehicle collided with a bike near the bridge of Bhawaliya village, situated 7km from city. The impact claimed lives of five people, including a woman and an eight-year-old girl. The victims were identified as Roshan (32), a resident of Kesarpura in Chittorgarh; his wife Ramkanya (30); their daughter Tara (11); Roshan's brother-in-law Naru (32); and Jeevan (38), a resident of Pipalwas in Chittorgarh. Roshan's one-year-old daughter Mahima (1) survived with injuries. Both Roshan and Naru were employed as daily wage labourers.
All adults worked as labourers in factories in the vicinity of Nimbahera. On Tuesday, after completing their work at a factory in Chittorgarh, they stayed at a friend's place in Sawa, Shambhupura.
From there, they were going to Satrana in Madhya Pradesh, when the tragic accident took place. Factory workers who were returning home after the night shift informed police about the accident.
