70-yr-old kills brother in dispute over property
Varanasi: In a clash with his younger brother, Jagdish Vishwakarma (70), resident of Karsada village under Mehnajpur police station in Azamgarh district killed his younger brother Omprakash (65) by hitting his head with a stick.After inspecting the incident site, Azamgarh (Lalganj) CO Bhupesh Pandey on Wednesday said Jagdish was arrested near Gangwal Panchayat building on Wednesday morning and the stick used for killing Omprakash was recovered. Named FIR against Jagdish was lodged on complaint of Omprakash’s wife Shanti Vishwakarma and the body was sent for post mortem. The CO said the murder took place in a dispute over division of property.During initial police investigation, it came to light that there was dispute over property between the two brothers and their families for a long time. On Tuesday evening, an altercation began between the two parties, which turned into a scuffle. During the dispute, both brothers attacked each other and Jagdish struck Omprakash’s head with a bamboo stick, dealing grave injury. Omprakash was unconscious and his family members and villagers rushed him to the hospital for treatment, where he died during treatment.
